Nodusfall Relics System

No slots, no sets, no upgrade path — what the confirmed relic system actually means.

Relics System

Relics are the equipment system in Nodusfall, and they work differently from every HoYoverse artifact system that came before. The official confirmation, from the NodusfallVerse X account in October 2026, is precise: unlike previous HoYoverse games, Nodusfall relics have no equipment slots, no set bonuses, and cannot be upgraded. That single statement eliminates three systems that players familiar with Genshin Impact or Honkai Star Rail would expect by default.

This page explains what relics actually do, how they drop, and what the “Slay, Forge, Build, Evolve” homepage feature means for your build. Pair it with Divine Skills for the ability layer, Styles and customization for the cosmetic and sub-class layer, and co-op combat for how builds actually perform in a hunt.

What the official statement says

The @NodusfallVerse X post on 17 October 2026, widely shared in subsequent wiki coverage, reads in full: “about the relic system in nodusfall: Unlike HoYoverse’s previous games, the so-called ‘artifacts’ in Nodusfall are not divided into different equipment slots, have no set bonuses, and cannot be upgraded.” That is the only first-party description of the relic system that exists as of the current date.

Three negatives are not a positive description. What relics are instead is left to inference from demo footage and the homepage feature copy. Until HoYoverse prints a dedicated panel, this page documents what those three restrictions eliminate and what remains possible.

What the restrictions eliminate

No equipment slots. Genshin Impact has five artifact slots (Flower, Plume, Sands, Goblet, Circlet). Honkai Star Rail has four relic slots and two ornament slots. Nodusfall explicitly has none of that structure. Relics do not lock into typed slots. This means you are not hunting a specific piece with specific substats to fill a specific hole in a build.

No set bonuses. Most endgame gear systems in gacha-adjacent games reward wearing a full set of matching pieces. Four-piece bonuses, two-piece plus four-piece interactions, stat thresholds that only activate when every slot is filled — none of that exists in Nodusfall relics. You cannot build toward a set bonus.

No upgrades. Rarity tiers exist in most gear systems as something to push: common to rare to epic to legendary, each tier requiring better drops or upgrade materials. Nodusfall relics cannot be upgraded. A relic is either worth using or it is not, based on its base properties, not its potential.

What the demo implied

The homepage feature “Slay, Forge, Build, Evolve” is the systems poster for this layer. The order matters: slay a Dreadnodi, forge new gear from its remains, build your approach with that gear, evolve through the hunt. The forging step is the key verb. Relics come from creatures, not from a daily dungeon or a gacha banner.

The “build” part of the feature name suggests relics are part of the build-crafting layer — not just stat sticks, but pieces that shape how a Weaver plays. That aligns with the combat copy that says Styles and skill combinations define a tactical approach. Relics are another axis in that approach.

Gamescom demo footage showed the knight with a large greatsword and the Hexsworn with frost magic, but no UI panel that displayed relic stats or slots. The system that existed in August was not the same as the shipped system will be.

How to think about relics before a client

The working mental model, pending official confirmation:

  • Relics drop from bosses, not from token exchanges or daily quests.
  • Each relic is a standalone piece with no slot typing.
  • There is no upgrade path, so every relic you pick up is either useful now or it is not.
  • There is no set bonus, so the goal is individual relic quality, not set completion.
  • This is closer to a looter-shooter drop system than to a traditional MMO gear treadmill.

Until a test client shows the relic UI, do not invent substats, set names, or drop rarities. The only honest statements are the three negatives confirmed in October 2026.

Relics and the broader build system

The four official features on the homepage are sequential in presentation only: Face Mighty Foes, Stand Together, Seize Their Power, Slay Forge Build Evolve. Relics belong to the last feature. Divine Skills belong to the third. Styles and skills belong to all four in different ways.

Your total build is: a Weaver (who), a Style (how you fight), regular skills (what you press), Divine Skills (your earned power), weapons (your tool), and relics (your passive bonuses). None of those layers are fully documented. Relics are the newest confirmed layer that is least understood.

For practical prep: study the demo roster to know your starting kits, then plan how you would layer relics on top of each job. When the test client ships, this page will add confirmed drop sources and relic properties.
