How to Hunt Dreadnodi

Dreadnodi are the corruption that turned legendary beasts into the things Weavers are sent to cut down. Official copy never fully explains their origin beyond the trailer: they spread calamity, warp folklore creatures, and sit at the far end of a contract. This page is the practical hunt guide from Gamescom — how a squad finds a target, stays alive for a multi-phase fight, and cashes a weakness window. Pair it with co-op combat for the verbs and roles for who stands where.

Contracts, not random overworld bosses

Inven’s demo did not wander a theme park. Four players accepted a contract, mounted, and rode toward a marked monster. That structure matters. You are not expected to stumble into a dragon. You sign up to kill it, then you travel. Creator footage of the same event shows rideable mounts, a hub with hot springs, and then an extended Fire Drake fight with a tank parrying in the open.

Famitsu’s session chained three bosses. The writer only reached the second, locally named チョンチー (Chongqi / Zhongqi in unofficial romanizations). GameRant’s 29 August English hands-on named the same chain as Cleaver Fellstone at a waterfall, Qionqi (winged horned lion, Chinese mythology) in a cavern, and Maldrake plus its armored rider as the closer. Treat those as preview labels until HoYoverse prints an English bestiary. The lesson is the chaining: stamina, cooldowns, and Divine Skill charges have to last more than one photograph. Full press file: hands-on roundup.

GameSpark’s later report adds a wrinkle the trailer hid: fights can spawn extra events. A dragon hunt that suddenly throws a powerful knight at you is a different tax than a clean arena. Watch the edges of the space, not only the health bar.

The beasts we can actually describe

Fire Drake. The most widely clipped Gamescom monster. Four-player footage shows mixed melee and ranged, a tank clash against dragon swings, and a late-fight execution prompt. Bring vertical awareness; dragons punish floor-only teams.

Cavern titan / chained beast. Press images from Famitsu show a Weaver dwarfed by a molten, chained creature in a cave. That is the scale the oil-painting art direction is selling. Expect lanterns, chains, and environmental hits — the kind of arena where a poorly placed AoE heal still matters because the floor is a mechanic.

Horned rain beast. Another Famitsu still puts a lone Weaver in a storm against a wide, pale, horned animal. Solo is supported, but this composition is a warning: huge hitboxes plus weather will hide telegraphs. Clash early, do not greed.

Winged lion / mountable beast. A Weaver riding a horned creature across cliffs appears in the same press set. Mounts are traversal and, in at least one Divine Skill, a combat form. Inven’s bow player described a Divine that turned the Weaver into a beast mount with paw swipes and tail jumps — awkward range, Ultimate-level cooldown, easy to waste.

Eastern-rooted beasts and Western dragons are the published bestiary pitch. Do not expect a Genshin-style elemental wheel to be documented yet. Elemental Links are about nodes on the body, not a public spreadsheet of resists.

How to not wipe a contract

  1. Assign roles before you mount. One tank, one healer, two damage seats is the booth composition that made sense to every previewer.
  2. Hold a Divine Skill for a phase change or a wipe prevent, not the opening roar.
  3. When Elemental Link nodes appear, hit them. Ignoring them is how lengthy hunts become lectures.
  4. Join executions. The prompt is a party mechanic. One starter, three followers.
  5. Use platforms. TechNode’s report is clear that floating structures exist to reach body parts.
  6. After the kill, loot with a purpose: weapons, skill unlocks, and the Divine harvest are the reason the loop exists. There is no live codes layer to farm instead.

Hub time is not the hunt

The social space — hot springs, mounts, light player contact — is real in footage. The development FAQ calls social features light on purpose. You will not be forced to make friends. You also will not clear Dreadnodi by sitting in the spring. Use the hub to swap Weavers, then take the next contract.

Until a bestiary ships, this page stays a hunt method, not a trophy list. When HoYoverse names the English roster, we will split pages. For now, one guide, three preview bosses, and the same execution prompt on all of them is the honest state of the wiki.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common Nodusfall questions.

What are Dreadnodi?

Official copy: corrupted legendary beasts spreading calamity. Their deeper origin is unstated beyond the trailer.

Can I hunt them solo?

Most core content is solo-viable. Large dragons still play better with four roles.

Is there a map of spawn points?

No public map. Demo hunts started from contracts, not open-world pins.

Where do I learn the buttons for finishers?

See controls and combat for clash and execution prompts.
