Nodusfall Controls
The Gamescom pad layout and the PC keys spotted in footage.
Nodusfall has not shipped a public keybind screen. Everything below comes from Gamescom preview PCs that were paired with Xbox controllers, plus HUD letters visible in later gameplay captures. Treat it as the demo language, not a final overlay. When a beta client exists, rebind first, then come back and correct this page.
If you have not played yet, pair this sheet with getting started and co-op combat. Buttons only matter once you know you are supposed to clash a boss swing rather than roll through a soulslike string.
Xbox controller (Gamescom preview)
Inven and GameRant both sat at booth machines with Xbox pads on high-end PCs. The shared mapping is third-person action, not a tab-target MMO:
- X — light attack.
- Y — heavy attack. Charged heavies feed the clash counter when timed into an incoming blow.
- Light plus heavy strings — the basic melee or ranged chain, depending on Weaver.
- RB + face buttons — the four standard skills. Short-cooldown tools live on these chords.
- RB + A — Ultimate, described with a cooldown well over two minutes in one ranged kit.
- RB + B — Divine Skill, the high-impact form or beast transform also sitting on an Ultimate-scale cooldown.
Hexsworn’s preview kit mapped a single-target heal beam, an AoE heal, an ice damage beam, and a green healing ring ultimate onto those chords. Your icons will differ if you sit on the knight or the archer; the chord idea stays.
Movement, camera, and dodge were not published as a full table. Expect a conventional third-person dodge/sprint on the right face or a shoulder, and a lock or soft-lock for huge targets. Previewers described spacious arenas, not locked 2D lanes, so camera height will matter on flying dragons.
PC keys seen in footage
Creator breakdowns of extended Gamescom captures show a five-ability cluster on the lower right of the HUD labeled E, Q, R, G, and T besides normal attack inputs. That cluster lines up with “four skills plus one Divine Skill” from Beebom and Famitsu. Until HoYoverse ships a settings menu, assume:
- Left mouse / right mouse for light and heavy, or a click-and-hold charge for the bow gauge.
- E Q R G as the standard four.
- T (or the fifth slot) as Divine Skill.
- Sprint, mount, and interact on familiar MMO-adjacent keys — unconfirmed, so do not memorize them as gospel.
If you are practicing muscle memory, practice clash timing more than a specific letter. The counter is the booth mechanic people remembered a day later, described in PC Gamer’s hands-on as charging a strong attack and releasing it as the monster connects, swelling a greatsword into a glowing follow-through.
Role-specific control notes
Knight / tank. Your heavy button is not vanity. Clash is how the front-liner steals a turn. Missing the window is how the healer’s AoE gets eaten. Read roles for why the party wants you in melee.
Bow ranger. Basic shots fill an arrow gauge; spend it on charged attacks. Inven’s ranged demo allowed about four charged shots at full gauge. Do not bind charge to a fidget key you tap by accident.
Hexsworn. Secondary ice waves that travel underground can stack a passive after three connects, then empower a follow-up. GameRant also describes a Glintstone-like primary pebble. Keep heal chords on shoulders you can hit while strafing. Full kit: Hexsworn.
Mage / hexer. Famitsu’s pick had long-range tracking and a flashy skill set — a friendlier first pad for players who panic in melee. Divine Skill still sits on the long cooldown; do not waste it on trash if the contract is a three-boss sequence.
Accessibility and booth caveats
Preview machines were high-end PCs. That does not define the shipped accessibility set. No official statement lists button remapping, colorblind filters, or subtitle languages. HoYoverse games usually ship generous language options; Nodusfall’s official site already exists in English, Japanese, and Simplified Chinese. This wiki’s links page tracks those homepages.
If you are learning from video, watch the mid-fight HUD rather than the trailer. Trailer cameras hide cooldown glyphs. Combat captures used on the Dreadnodi page show party health on the left and the five-ability cluster on the right — that is the layout to memorize.
When a test client lands, screenshot your binds and compare them here. Until then, this page is the best pad translation we have from Gamescom, not a substitute for the in-game menu.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common Nodusfall questions.
Are these the final keybinds?
No. They are the Gamescom Xbox layout and HUD letters from footage. Rebind in the first beta.
How do I clash?
Charge a heavy and release it as the monster's attack lands. Details live in combat.
Where is the dodge button?
Not published as a named key. Expect a standard third-person dodge; confirm in the test client.
Can I play on a pad on PC?
The Gamescom PCs did. Official controller support at launch is unannounced but likely.
